Day 151: Brandywine Falls

Boyd and I have been wanting to go to Brandywine falls ever since we moved here.
We finally go the chance to go on our little adventure today.

I have always wanted to take cool water pictures where the water looks so soft and flowy.
After a few test shots this is what I got!

Wanna know what Boyd always does when I'm setting up the shot?
He makes funny faces of course!

hum, we must be married.

But like decent people we do know how to smile on command.

p.s. if you ever wonder if tie dye shirts and mullets still exist; I will tell you right now they do in Ohio! I couldn't believe my eyes. Not only did I see those two horrific things in the same place, it was being fashioned by the same person. wow.

Boyd made a list of other things we did on this fun Memorial Day. Here it is:
Went to the park for the ward picnic. It was great.
Ate breakfast.
Pet a cute puppy.
Talked with friends.
Got my feet all muddy when my flip-flop got stuck during our three-legged race
(Allison and I both ended up finished the race flip-flopless)
Used Isaac as protection from the barrage of water balloons and squirt guns. (It worked.)
Threw the football
Played some baseball with some buddies

Allison's list also included getting sick on the swings. It had been so long since I had been on a swing I decided to try it out. As I pumped my legs higher and higher I started getting butterflies in my stumny. Then my hands got all clammy. Then my head began to spin and I felt like I was going to fall off. I had flip flops on and I'm not much of a jumper. So I endured the torment till the swing stopped and felt much better after I got off.
It looks like it is time to go to Cedar Point again to desensitize myself to getting motion sickness

Day 150: Lettuce Wraps

Today Boyd and I were ambitious
and decided to make lettuce wraps for dinner!
Talk about YUM!

I grew up in the Willow Creek 5th ward. That was a very special ward! They decided one year to make a cook book because everybody in that ward was an amazing cook. I love this cookbook. We have 3 copies, (2 from our wedding). This is a treasure I will keep for the rest of my life. I love going through it looking at all the names and remembering all the food that person used to make. Ahhh, good times.

Day 149: Recital Part 2

Today we had our final recital. I was so proud of all my kiddies!

A very special thank you to my wonderfully supportive husband.
The Bop and Bounce Girls (more like bouncy girls)

"But should he see a tiger"

Aren't my little kids so cute!

My big kids crack me up! I love Ben's face. You know the only reason why Ben is making that face is because I'm making a face at him.

Day 147: Allison's Birthday Eve

More flowers for my birthday? Sure! Why not?
I have a wonderful hubby who knows I love pink, especially pink roses.
Thank goodness for floral arrangement class at BYU
or else I might not know what to do with all these flowers.

Day 146: The Beginning Of A Quilt Part 2

Remember post number 95? A while back I decided to make a quilt. One day I sat down like a mad woman and started sketching some ideas. I have finally started to put my ideas into practice. Today, during Karson's nap I started cutting and sewing. Here's what I've got so far.

Day 145: Birthday Flowers

Cutest vase in the world? How about a cupcake vase? I saw this idea while we were shopping for mother's day flowers a while back and just had to have these vases. The only problem was we couldn't find them anywhere! Boyd and I went on a random shopping trip to a kitchen store last week and as we walked in the doors, there "they" were. The vases of my dreams! Turns out they are actually ice cream bowls. Huh, who knew? Three of my favorite things, ice cream, flowers, and cupcakes. I think this is the perfect present because it's like getting a gigantic cupcake without all the calories.

Day 144: Goofy Hats

Remember a while back I blogged about Boyd purchasing some hats we just couldn't pass up. Well once upon a while ago we had taken some goofy pictures in our goofy hats for fun.
It was St. Patrick's Day (Hence the green)

I didn't really like how dark some of the pictures turned out.
Then we got Lightroom and Ta Da!

Before

After

p.s. don't mind the sun spot but the noise reduction is amazing!

Day 143: Chicken N' Waffles

Is it possible to make a fattening food even more fattening? YES, with syrup! I felt like Buddy the Elf today because we put syrup on our chicken tonight.
Everything is better with syrup, right?

Boyd and I love to watch cooking shows. One episode had Gladys Knight serving up chicken n' waffles at her restaurant. So tonight, we decided to try it.
Um, can you say delicious?

Boyd wanted me to mention that, while we were trying to defrost the chicken, our tap water came out so hot that it actually cooked the outside of the chicken. We always knew our water was warm coming out, but never realized just how hot it was.

Day 142: Bop & Bounce Recital

Today was our first Bop & Bounce recital.
We had so much fun with our Jungle Book theme.
All my kiddies did great!

One of the many funny faces I make when I'm trying to get the kids excited.

My buddy Kyle did an awesome job with his front roll!

"and then lift this arm. . . .

Oh look, they listened!

Look at my cuties go in their funky sun glasses! Oh they just look so cute!

Day 141: Sunny Days

I'm so happy it is getting warmer. Days like today make me so happy. It's Friday, the sun was shining, there is one week till my birthday, Boyd and I had a date night, last night we went on a sporadic shopping trip to the Aurora Farms Outlet, I'm happy, Boyd's happy, can life get any better?

Day 140: Clothing Explosion

What happens when you go to do laundry and somebody is waiting behind you, staring at you?
Last night we were doing laundry and had one more load to do, but when we walked into our laundry room there was a basket there, waiting. . . . As we were loading from the washer to the dryer our *cough* crazy *cough* neighbor came in and fiddled with her basket. Sorry lady, we have one more load. Unfortunately when we picked up our load from the dryer it wasn't dry all the way and we knew as soon as the buzzer went off that she would be on her way.
I hate not having our own washer/dryer.
Our apartment ended up looking like this.

Notice the lovely path Boyd created with the socks.

This made me feel like a teenager who doesn't pick up their clothes.

Day 139: Simple Skirt

My friend Lara taught me how to make this simple skirt. It is super comfy, super easy to make, and super the best. I finished it today during nap time in the Bills home. Here it is:

Day 138: Meet Maddie

This is Maddie. I got to take pictures of Maddie, along with her family, a few weeks ago. Of all the pictures I have ever taken I think this one is in the top 3.

Day 137: Playing Pretend

Welcome to Allison and Boyd's nanny service. We are open from 8 a.m. till midnight.

Boyd and I get the fun opportunity to watch baby Karson for the next year. We are so excited! We have been wanting to be parents for so long and we get to be pretend parents for the next year.

I wonder what they are looking at. . . .

Day 136: Splash N Dash

Anytime there are puddles, Boyd always tries to drive through and see how big a splash he can make. We especially love driving into our parking lot when it is flooded and splashing the water like so . . .

My favorite part about driving with Boyd is when he says "WEEEEEEEEE" As he drives through the puddles. As you can see he kept driving back and forth a few *cough* many times because it was so fun.

I got jealous because the car go to splash in the puddles, I decided to be a little kid and do some splashing myself. (I personally think my arms look ridiculously long)

Day 135: Rain Boots

I did it. I broke down and purchased rubber rain boots.
Why didn't anyone warn me that it rains all the time here?

One day Boyd and I were driving and I commented about how it was pouring rain and Boyd said "this is nothing." Then, two seconds later, it looked like somebody was dumping buckets of water on the windshield and then Boyd said "Now it's pouring rain."

Today for the first time every I heard the annoying
EEEAAARRRR EAAAAARRRRD EEEAARRD sound on the radio
and didn't hear the "this is just a test of the emergency broadcast system" This was for real! What?!?! Apparently there was some flash flooding and they were telling people to stop driving and if you live by a river beware or something like that. I couldn't believe it! For the first time ever I didn't think that sound on the radio was annoying. Just the other day Boyd was driving home from a friend's house and he said there was at least 4" of water on the road. So it is for real.

It apparently rained enough tonight because THIS is what we came home to. . . .

Our parking lot tends to flood so I obviously had to take a picture of it sometime. It's practically the size of a small lake. This is actually the reason why I got my boots. Because there was no way for us to get to our cars if I weren't wearing boots. Anyway, we just spent the last hour taking pictures outside. . . in the dark . . . my husband loves me . . . even when I make goofy faces . . .

Day 134: Indians Game

Did you know that sometimes the Lord answers prayers though baseball games?

First of all, last night I prayed so hard that it wouldn't rain. We had been planning on this game for so long and when I checked the weather it said it was going to rain. This morning I checked it and it said it was going to rain at 5:00 p.m. I checked it again at 5 and the storm got pushed back till 11, when we left for the game the storm got pushed back again till 12. There wasn't a single drop of rain! But as soon as we stepped in the door we could hear it pouring down.

My next answer to my prayer came when the Indians won in the 9th inning!
Bottom of the 9th
Indians down 4 to 3
2 Outs
With a runner on 3rd.
Travis Hafner steps up to the plate
He fouls off the first pitch with a big cut but wasn't about to miss the second one
Hafner crushes a walk-off home run 400+ feet to center field
Giving the Indians the victory on Friday the 13

Boyd's prayer was answered because I had a good time at the game. He told me that deep down inside his heart he wanted me to enjoy my first major league baseball game.

Dollar Dog Night! Can it get any better?

Our perfect little evening ended with some super fun fireworks.
