Day 210: Fly in the Sky

While Allison was taking pictures of Florence yesterday, Heidi really wanted to help out. She did lots of things to help get Florence's attention off the grass and onto the camera. Although her heart was in the right place, most of the time Heidi's helping placed her right in the path between the camera and the baby. With that said, Allison got some great pictures of the back of Heidi's head.

Yesterday, I learned that I can't watch a wondering dog, corral an over-exuberant 2 year old, and try to get a baby to smile all at the same time. The dog ended up wondering back home. The two year old wandered halfway into the cul-de-sac before I realized her escape and frantically scurried off to grab her. And the baby just didn't feel like smiling.

Afterwards, I rewarded Heidi for her help with some flying time. She loved it.

Day 209: Carrot Curry

This is a super healthy curry that Boyd made last week. It uses carrots and chicken stock with curry paste. All of which are pureed together to make a yummy paste you put over meat and rice. It's really yummy with pork.

We quickly decorated it with sour cream for the picture.

Day 208: Pool Party

Carrie is in town and Beth invited us over to swim.
We had a blast splashing around playing sharks and minnows.

Day 207: Girls Camp Goodies

Girls camp, girls camp, and more girls camp. That is what I did today. I was put in charge of doing the spiritual thought/goody. Here is what I came up with.

The quote is wrapped around a lifesaver.

Here is another look at the artwork the girls contributed to.

Day 205: Ann Arbor (Michigan) Street Art Fair

Today we went to the "Original" Ann Arbor Street Art Fair. It was really fun to see everything people come up with. I had a hard time justifying paying $900-$1,000 for many of the pieces of art, but they were still cool to look at.

The girls even got to do some of their own painting.

Day 204: Puzzle Museum

Boyd and I had been planning on going to visit Carrie and family for a while. We couldn't decide if we wanted to take off last night or this morning. Yesterday Boyd got a call at 4:00 p.m. saying he has a PPI (Personal Priesthood Interview) at 8:00 p.m. that night and it was all the way up in Sandusky. Sandusky is an hour away from our house and was actually on the way to Michigan anyway. Apparently the decision was made for us and we arrived at Carrie's late last night.

Today the girls wanted to do puzzles.
We ended up doing so many it turned into a "puzzle museum"
(that's what the girls kept calling it)

We did 17 puzzles and put together 864 pieces

Day 203: Jenny's Maternity Pictures

Love Love Love all of these pictures!

This one makes me laugh ever time. I love this one so much because when I think of Jenny and this is totally what I think of. (Don't hate me for putting it up here Jenny) I just think it is so stinkin' cute.

Day 202: Digitally Remastered

Today Boyd spent about an hour scanning mission pictures into the computer, upon my request. This is one of my favorites!

This is Marea Neagra Constanta (The Black Sea)
In March. It was cold.

Before a few touch-ups

Look how young Boyd looks!

Day 201: Let Virtue Garnish Thy Thoughts

Tonight for the Young Women activity I was in charge. Yikes! This was my first time and I had to teach about Virtue. Yay. . . Boyd came up with the brilliant idea of letting virtue "garnish" thy thoughts. So after a day of watching youtube videos, Boyd and I learned how to make a few garnishes. It was a lot of fun, I actually quite enjoyed it. I taught this new skill to the young women and afterwards people asked me if that is how I get Boyd to eat his veggies. Ha ha

These are carrots. You take the whole thing, cut small wedges on all 4 sides of it, then just cut it into circles. The middles are blueberries. The stems are green onions that are sliced real thin.

I loved making these. These are carrot tulips. Super easy, and super cute!

My lime butterfly

These crazy flowers turned out great! It is a green and a yellow zucchini. You just use the vegetable peeler and cut thin, long, strips. Then you lay the yellow on top of the green and make small, diagonal, incisions along the colored edge (about 1/4 in) then you just roll them up! How fun is that!

Day 200: I'm Bringing Home A Baby Bumble Bee

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee.
Wont my mommy be so proud of me?
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee.
Ouch! He stung me!
I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee.
Wont my mommy be so proud of me?
I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee.
Eew! It's all over me!
I'm wiping off my baby bumblebee.
Wont my mommy be so proud of me?
I'm wiping off my baby bumblebee.
Look! All clean!

In a hurry because we are about to go
and watch the FINAL Harry Potter.
Boyd is mad because we just watched part 1
and he felt like nothing happened.
(so much for going to the gym)

Anyway, I posted this because I have a zillion, ok maybe I exaggerated, like 7 bug bites right now. Uggg, hate those nasty bugs. At least I haven't gotten stung by a bee this summer, so far.

Day 199: Spot The Frog

Boyd and I love to go to the metro park.
Our favorite game is spot the frog.
One day we took our camera along and
turns out you can see the frogs way better when you take a picture of them.
Can you Spot The Frog?
