Day 198: Yellow Fleurs

Today Boyd and I got volunteered to help with the grounds at the John Johnson farm. I got to ride a tractor mower for 2 whole hours! It was a blast. It was like 4wheeling only you are actually doing something productive at the same time. Then we went over to the stake center to say goodbye to Boyd's youth conference group. (He left yesterday without saying goodbye and they just happen to be at the farm when we were there) Those kids love Boyd so much! One kid in particular came running up to Boyd as soon as he saw him and gave him a great big hug! They nick named him "Dolla' Bills" and apparently I was "Dolla' Bills' wife"

So as you can imagine we are pooped. I was too lazy to bring our camera along with us on our hike this evening, but will bring it next time.
We went to the Brecksville Deer Lick Cave.
It was super cool (pictures to come in the future)

For now this is a cute little flower from our last adventure.

Day 197: Tall Tall Flower

I (Boyd) spent yesterday, last night, and today with the youth of our stake touring the Kirtland sights for youth conference. I cannot say enough good things about our youth. They were a lot more mindful of other youths' needs than I ever was when I was in the Young Men's Organization. I was honored to spend a little bit of time with such fine young men and women.
We didn't actually have our camera on us for the conference. Allison is zonked out on the couch and has been for several hours, leaving me to choose the photo. If you haven't already figured it out, I'm not as good at this game as she is.
Anyway. We were walking down a path the other night, and I couldn't help to capture these tall flowers. I'm guessing they're wild sunflowers, but only Shaun could tell me for sure. Their definitely pretty.

Day 196: Jenny's Maternity Sneak Peek

Who is one of the cutest preggo ladies ever?
Jenny!

I'm so so so excited about these pictures.
I absolutely love the way they turned out!

Day 195: A Toad in the Rough

On our little hike, I (Boyd) spotted this little guy. Just prior to seeing him, we had run across a bunch of frogs, but they hopped away lickety-split the moment we arrived, so I wasn't able to catch a photo. You could barely see him in the grass, but the camera does a smashing job of uncovering him.

Day 194: Dragonfly

On our nature adventure (mentioned in my previous post) I almost ran into this guy with my face. We were walking along the trail when I looked at Boyd, then looked where I was going, when this dragonfly almost poked my eyeball out. I, of course, freaked out, jerked my head away and tried not to scream. Then, I noticed that it hadn't moved at all. At first I thought it was dead. I took this opportunity to take a picture of a nonthreatening insect. If it really was dead, then it couldn't get me. So I eased on in closer and closer. Then, when I felt like I had a good shot of this dragonfly, I took 10 steps back and told Boyd to shake the branch it was on. It was actually alive! Yikes! It could have gotten me. And to think I was only about 2 inches away from it.

Day 193: Bald Eagle Nest Fails

Boyd read online somewhere that there is a bald eagle nest in Brecksville.
So, naturally we set out to find it, only to find this sign.
BOOO! At least we got our exercise for the day.
We did, however, spy some other cool nature things. Pictures to come

Day 192: Cell Phone Pics

Poem
On the go
seeing funny things.
I put them on a camera.
Here is where we've been.

Boyd

Yep, we still go to McEE Dees occasionally. We were on our way to buy stuff for summer, and we stopped by McDonald's for some ice cream. I wanted a chicken sandwich, so Allison decided she should get a burger before she turned into a hungry bear. To her surprise, instead of getting a double cheeseburger, she ended up with a triple cheeseburger. Yum.
Count 'em 1 2 3

On another shopping trip, we came out of the mall to see this line of cars. We couldn't figure out which one was ours because they were all white and silver down the row. (except one car which is a navy blue. You can't even see it b/c it just looks like a shadow amongst the other cars.)

Even the one towards the very end with its nose sticking out is white.

We went on a crazy Mexican food kick this past week. Needless to say, it has been a bit smelly in our house. We've had some type of Mexican dish just about everyday since Tuesday. We finished the week by going to a place called Nuevo Acapolco.
The flavor of our food was the same as any other Mexican restaurant , but the steak was ridiculously tender and amazing. I would go there to order steak before going to a restaurant-chain steak place.

We keep finding food that is bigger than my head. Look at that burrito! In the pic, I've already eaten half of it.

Allison was craving beans and rice all week. We even made a special trip to Pleasant Eagle to pick up a package of beans and rice. It didn't fulfill the craving, though. On Friday, she got what she wanted, finally.

Day 191: Makeover

Today Boyd suggested that I try a different hair style. I told him if he wanted me to do it differently then he has to do my hair. So he looked online for inspiration and decided to part my hair in the middle. I HATE parting my hair in the middle. I think it looks like a butt crack. So after about an hour of Boyd putting forth his best effort, learning how to use my curling iron, using loads of hair spray, we had some success. I did a bit *cough* a lot of touch up work and here are the results.

Just for kicks, we decided to do a "before and after" picture.

for amateur photographers.
I am allowed to enter 3 pictures but can't decided which ones to enter.

#2: Spoonbill

#3: Gorilla
#4: Sun Bear

#5: Tiger
#6: Monkey Mom

#7:Giraffe
#8: Orangutan

#9: Bald Eagle

Day 189: Deer Crossing

I didn't actually get a picture of any because Boyd and I were going to go drive golfballs today at the range, but I saw multiple deer today. Two of which actually crossed the road right in front of a deer crossing sign. I wish I would have had my camera. How often do you actually see deer cross by one of those yellow signs?
Back to golf, I actually got the ball to go in the air. I am very proud of myself for my first time ever using a driver.

I found this picture that I took awhile ago and decided to post it in honor of our nation's independence.
